Traditional Clay Pots & Bowls

One of my favorite early childhood memories is of my grandmother making her famous fish curry in a large clay (mati)  pot. She used to cook all her curries in large clay pots; she was feeding a sizeable family! I didn’t realize at the time how healthy cooking in clay posts was. All I knew was the whole house smelt wonderful and the food was delicious…there never were any leftovers…

Cooking in clay pots adds moisture to the food and clay pots retain oil so you don’t have to add extra to make your food taste better. The food cooked in clay pots has the added benefit of becoming rich in minerals such as iron, phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium.

Clay is not only used in cooking pots. Take a clay cup, add water and give it a minute to sit. Take a sip…You’ll notice the water is cool and has a delicious taste. The clay acts as a natural cooler.

We also included clay fruit bowls, salad bowls, and a beautiful oil burner for your scented oils. Check out our gorgeous collection…I’m almost tempted to keep them all to myself.
